Hot Box wants to congratulate Adam Dyet (2009 X-Games bronze medalist Street Skating) on the recent addition to his family. Adam’s girlfriend gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Mason Ho, the son of legendary North Shore Surfer Michael Ho and the nephew of former World Champ Derek Ho, has been surfing extremely well in the O’neill Sunset Beach Contest on the North Shore. After a day off due to small waves the swell has begun to hit and the contest is getting waves in the 15ft+ range. Growing up on the North Shore this gives Mason an advantage over visiting surfers in the rising swell plus having a father who has an immense amount of knowledge of the wave at Sunset helps. We at Hot Box wish Mason good luck for the rest of the contest.
This past summer Hot Box Vapors put together a unique art
show concept that no one has ever done before. Hot Box Vapors is the only
vaporizer company that licenses art from roughly 20 different artists and bands
to print on vaporizers. We also have these artists, who come from a broad
background to draw on our blank shells. We have painters, tattoo artists and
graffiti artists make custom Hot Boxes for us, many of which match existing
paintings that they have done.In
July we rented on the Light Gallery in Costa Mesa for a night and set up all
the custom units for this art show and had the artists also bring the matching
paintings. Not only was there vaporizers but we also had some amazing glass art
as part of this show. The show included live music from Will Crum and dj sets
by Michael Bassler and Will Simes. We are planning on doing our second show in the 1st quarter
of 2010 in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for details.
